Background on Joe
I have been painting in oils for over 55 years. While I enjoy painting many scenes and still life subjects, my favorite subject is glasswork. I enjoy painting glass due to the challenges presented in representing light and image distortions that translucent and transparent materials offer. The unique coloration and distinctive shapes of wine glasses and bottles makes "wine-scapes" great art subjects that can also help recall our favorite occasions and save the memories.
Recent Paintings (2024):
- "Hawk and Horse" is 16" X 12" oil on canvas.
- "Silver Oak at Cafe" is 20" X 10" oil on canvas.
- "Bog Garden" is 16" X 12" oil on canvas.
- "Stacked Rock" is 16" X 12" oil on canvas.
My work is also on display at The Tasting Room (Spring Garden Rd, Greensboro, NC) and Medaloni Cellars (Shallowford Rd, Lewisville, NC).
